Job summary

Greenhous DAF Birmingham is recruiting a skilled Night HGV Technician to join our after-hours workshop team. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs and trailers, diagnose faults, and ensure MOT preparations meet DVSA standards to maximise uptime and safety.

Working Tue-Fri, 7.00 pm to 6.30 am (46 hours/week) with a 20-minute paid break. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), experience on HGVs, and a proactive, independent work approach.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in HGV maintenance or similar
• Experience working on HGVs
• DAF experience advantageous but not essential
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete MOT preparations and inspections.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with DAF and DVSA standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and service documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.

Greenhous DAF Birmingham is now seeking a skilled, motivated and reliable Night HGV Technician to join our expanding, high-performing after-hours workshop team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a market-leading brand in a professional, fully equipped and fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in maintaining and repairing customer vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring maximum vehicle uptime, minimising downtime and keeping fleets operating safely and efficiently on the road. We are looking for an individual who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship, demonstrates strong attention to detail and is committed to providing exceptional service at all times. In addition to the responsibilities outlined above and below, the successful candidate may be required to undertake other duties as necessary to support the ongoing needs and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Working Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 7.00 pm to 6.30 am, i.e. 46 hours per week, 20 minutes paid break.

• Work independently during night shifts while maintaining high productivity.

Qualifications

• Qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience working on HGVs (DAF experience advantageous but not essential).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• HGV Class 1 or 2 licence desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, reliable and proactive attitude.

OTE £50,000 per annum
