Job summary

Pure Staff are recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 Night Drivers to work with a client in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for professional and reliable drivers seeking regular night work, competitive pay rates, and ongoing assignments.

As a Night Driver, you will complete trunk runs and pallet collections using modern Class 1 vehicles. Night shifts typically start between 17:00 and 19:00, with long shifts of 10-12 hours, on an ongoing basis with immediate starts.

Qualifications

• UK Category C+E (Class 1) Licence required.
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Newly qualified drivers will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Complete trunking runs and pallet collection work safely and efficiently.
• Operate Class 1 vehicles in line with all transport legislation and company procedures.
• Open and close vehicle curtains as required for loading and unloading.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
• Ensure all delivery and collection paperwork is completed accurately.
• Adhere to Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations at all times.
• Maintain a professional manner when dealing with customers and transport teams.
• Wear the correct PPE whilst working, including safety boots and hi-vis clothing.
• Successfully complete a driving assessment prior to starting work.
