Hilton Garden Inn Bristol is looking for a confident Night Duty Manager to take charge when the sun goes down. You’ll be the senior person on site overnight, trusted to keep the hotel running smoothly, our guests well looked after, and the building safe and secure until the day team walks back through the door.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel duty management or night manager roles.
• Strong leadership and decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent guest service and communication skills.
• Good understanding of health, safety and security procedures.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior manager on duty overnight, owning the hotel operations during your shift.
• Lead and support the night team (reception, security, porters) to ensure smooth service.
• Complete the night audit accurately and on time and prepare morning reports.

Hilton Garden Inn Bristol is looking for a confident, capable Night Duty Manager to take charge when the sun goes down. You'll be the senior person on site overnight, trusted to keep the hotel running smoothly, our guests well looked after, and the building safe and secure until the day team walks back through the door.

What You'll Be Doing

• Acting as the senior manager on duty overnight, taking ownership of the hotel and full accountability for anything that happens on your shift
• Leading and supporting the night team, including reception, security, and porters, making sure everyone has what they need to do their job well
• Completing the night audit accurately and on time, balancing the day's trading and preparing reports for the morning management team
• Being the calm, capable point of contact for guests overnight — handling check-ins, queries, complaints, and the occasional curveball with confidence
• Carrying out fire safety and security checks throughout the night, and leading the response if anything goes wrong
• Walking the building regularly, keeping an eye on standards, safety, and anything that needs fixing before the doors open to the day
• Making swift, sound decisions when something unexpected comes up — because at 3am, you're the one they call
• Handing over cleanly and clearly to the day team, so nothing gets missed and nothing gets dropped

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in a hotel duty management, night manager, or senior front office role
• A genuine night-owl mindset — you're at your best, sharpest, and most switched-on overnight
• Strong leadership skills, with the confidence to manage a small team and take charge when it matters
• A calm head under pressure and good judgement when working independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent guest service skills — a warm welcome at 2am should feel just as good as one at 2pm
• A good understanding of hotel operations, health & safety, and fire/security procedures (or a real willingness to learn)
• Sharp attention to detail, particularly when it comes to night audit and financial reporting
