Job summary

Avara Foods Ltd. is hiring a Despatch Operative at the Hollybank site in Scropton, near Hatton. The role involves handling fresh and frozen meat products, palletising, loading deliveries and using hand scanners in a busy FMCG setting.

Shifts run Tuesday to Saturday from 21:00 to 06:00 with a starting hourly rate of £13.66 plus a £2.00 per hour night shift allowance. Full training, overtime opportunities and employee benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Licences/experience with MHE equipment.
• Good level of English and basic numeracy skills.
• The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
• Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks.
• Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Picking, storing and documenting products.
• Quality checking, wrapping and palletising products.
• Stacking frozen and chilled products.
• Loading and unloading trailers.
• Using hand scanners to log products into the system.
• Picking, checking and rotating products based on the daily plan.
• Manual handling which can include lifting equipment and products up to 20kg
