Job Overview

Providing immediate emotional support and guidance to callers on the 24/7 helpline, including clinical assessments and signposting. The role also includes a designated day for structured telephone/video counselling clients, which can contribute to BACP accreditation.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Providing an efficient and effective telephone counselling service to all callers
• Working with a variety of individuals and presenting issues, including distressed or at-risk callers
• Offering “In the moment support” using a Solution Focused approach to achieve one-call resolution
• Maintaining an active caseload of short-term counselling and video clients, including online CBT and Power to Recover clients – up to 6 clients per allocated day

Essential Skills and Competencies:

• Minimum diploma level 4 in Counselling & at least 150 counselling hours
• Registered member of the BACP
• Relevant telephone experience
• High level of computer literacy (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong organisational skills; ability to meet deadlines and targets
• Good communication and customer service skills

Desirable Skills and Competencies:

• Accredited with or eligible for accreditation by the BACP
• EAP experience
• Experience in a target-driven environment
