Job description

Exciting opportunity for a Night Chef to join a multi-national company at one of their 5* luxury multi-award winning hotels. In this position, you will be joining a brigade of chefs at the hotel, maintaining the kitchens and ensuring that guests' dining requirements are met throughout the night. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef to work with talented and enthusiastic chefs. The hotel has other dining outlets including fine dining restaurants, so you will have plenty of opportunity to progress within the company.

Requirements:

  • HACCP – To follow the day-to-day procedures including diligence, food labeling, and weekly deep clean of your section.
  • Run an environment that is clean, tidy, and organized at all times. Promote morals that encourage a team to have pride in their working environment and a high level of commitment.
  • Control, with the assistance of the senior chefs, all the operating costs within all the food outlets to the agreed budgets set for your section, including stock control, stock rotation, and ordering.
  • Plan the day-to-day running of your section effectively to meet the service by the department. This will mean constant training, supervision, and forecasting in line with the hotel’s business needs.
  • Ensure that the stock control, stock rotation, and ordering for your section are complete to the Executive Chef standards.
  • Supervise, train, and develop the team to ensure a gradual succession and learning path for everyone by delegating tasks to team members.
  • Have a flexible ability to respond to business and client needs.
  • Help protect the property from theft and damage of goods using good working practices within the kitchens and making sure procedures are followed to prevent this from happening.
  • Lead the team as per the company’s values and ensure a high level of team morale.
  • Suggest new menu and/or recipe ideas to the senior chefs in charge.
  • Ensure daily food preparation meets recipe and specification index i.e. size, quantity, and quality.
