Job summary

Crystal Care Collection is seeking a dedicated Night Care Team Leader / Night Deputy Manager to guide the night team across a home in the United Kingdom. You’ll oversee safe night operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff to deliver compassionate, person-centred care.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, leadership experience, and the ability to manage emergencies calmly while coordinating with the wider management team.

Qualifications

• Holds an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
• Experience in a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader or leadership role in residential/nursing care.
• Able to lead a team and make decisions independently during night shifts.
• Experience administering medication and keeping accurate care documentation.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Leads by example and enjoys coaching, mentoring and developing colleagues.
• Calm, confident and professional in emergencies or unexpected situations.
• Dedicated to delivering exceptional resident care with high quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the safe and effective running of the home at night, acting as person in charge outside office hours.
• Lead, coach and support the night care team to deliver person-centred care.
• Deliver and oversee high-quality personal care per care plans, promoting dignity and independence.
• Act as Key Worker for allocated residents and keep care plans updated.
• Safely administer, order and record medication following policies and regulations.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing and escalate concerns with accurate records.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals and on-call management to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide supervision and development support to Night Care Team members.
• Support induction and development of new staff and maintain a positive working environment.
• Complete delegated audits, quality checks, and other management duties as required.
• Support residents’ emotional, social and wellbeing needs and encourage meaningful engagement.
