Job summary

Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Chertsey seeks a capable Neonatal Shift Leader to join the NICU and Transitional Care teams. You will promote a high-quality nursing service, set clinical standards and mentor junior staff to deliver family-centred care.

Experience in Level 2 or 3 neonatal care with ENB 405/QIS or equivalent and strong leadership, communication and critical thinking skills are essential. You will rotate shifts and deputise for the Ward Sister as required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a neonatal qualification (ENB 405/QIS or equivalent).
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and critical thinking skills.
• Experience in Level 2 or 3 neonatal care is essential.

Responsibilities

• Promote and help to manage delivery of a quality nursing service in NICU and Transitional Care.
• Assess patient care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
• Act as Shift Leader and deputise for Ward Sister/Charge Nurse; rotate night and day shifts.
• Lead areas of clinical practice, including audit, infection control, health & safety and staff line management.
• Lead quality improvements using research and evidence-based practice; monitor clinical standards.
