This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. An opportunity has arisen for a position within the Medical Equipment Management Service. Although the post will be based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, the successful candidate will be required to work on all sites throughout NHS Lothian to support the delivery of a medical equipment management service.

We are looking for applicants who are self-motivated and able to work effectively within a team to ensure the day-to-day running of the service. Good interpersonal skills are essential, as is a flexible and methodical approach to the required tasks. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, conscientious and technically capable individual able to join a team providing medical equipment management services within NHS Lothian. The primary role of the post is:

  • to carry out medical equipment audits and produce accurate equipment lists,
  • asset labelling of medical devices to assist with radio frequency identification (RFID) asset tracking, and
  • ensuring that information on the medical equipment management system is accurate.

Please note that this position falls under the Medical Equipment Contracts Team. Therefore, any references in the job description to the post holder being managed by the Workshop Manager or Sector Manager should be understood to mean that the post holder will instead report to the Medical Equipment Contracts Manager.
