About The Role

This post is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist looking to specialise or advance in respiratory and cardiology medicine.

You Will

  • Play a key role in the pharmaceutical care of patients.
  • Collaborate closely with the respiratory pharmacy team and wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to optimise patients’ medicines and care.
  • Engage in both inpatient and outpatient settings, provide counselling and opportunity to participate in prescribing activity.
  • Support and develop other members of the pharmacy team, including trainee pharmacists, junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support workers.
  • Benefit from opportunities for service improvement, independent prescribing training, delivery of education and training and other personal and professional development initiatives.

You’ll Have The Chance To Be Part Of

  • Multi-disciplinary ward rounds.
  • Specialist outpatient clinics such as cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease and complex infection.
  • Service development projects to improve patient care and utilising skill mix within the pharmacy team.

This is an ideal progression opportunity for a rotational pharmacist, or a specialist pharmacist looking to have involvement in an inpatient setting whilst developing their skills in outpatients service. This post also offers various working patterns under the flexible working policy (e.g. 9-day working pattern over 2 weeks, or part-time hours with more than one postholder).

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent) and General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registration.
  • Completion of or have equivalent competence mapped to the .
  • A commitment to improving patient care through pro-active, evidence-based pharmaceutical services.
  • Experience in influencing prescribing practices and working in a patient-focused environment.
