We serve a population of 900,000, providing a range of primary, community-based, and acute hospital services. We also deliver regional and national services across various clinical specialties.
The vision for the Pharmacy & Medicines service is to deliver clinically led, person-centred services to ensure patients across Lothian receive optimal medication and pharmacy care. We aim to foster an environment where team members can flourish, develop, and utilize their skills effectively.
The post holder will work as part of a team of clinical pharmacists providing support to community mental health teams within Edinburgh and assisting with inpatient older people's mental health services. Key responsibilities include pharmaceutical care for vulnerable patients, medication history reviews, medicines advice, high-dose antipsychotic monitoring, adherence to the Mental Health Act, and patient/carer education.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and innovative Clinical Pharmacist eager to contribute to improved mental health services for adults. Success in this role depends on multidisciplinary collaboration. The post will also involve close cooperation with other pharmacy team members across NHS Lothian.
Candidates must hold a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and have completed or possess equivalent competence as outlined in the Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist Framework, available at:
