What you will do
  • Take charge of a defined caseload using evidence-based and patient-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy interventions.
  • Lead and inspire junior staff under the guidance of the Team Lead Occupational Therapist to ensure high-quality service provision.
  • Mentor and supervise occupational therapy students on practice placements, contributing to the development of future professionals.
  • Work closely with the Band 7 Team Leader to maintain an exceptional standard of care in collaboration with the multi-professional team, meeting the needs of patients in your designated work area.
  • Step up and assist in the absence of the Band 7 OT Team Leader to ensure the effective and efficient day-to-day running of the Occupational Therapy Service.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist
  • Possess a degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Have recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist, particularly within the NHS.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
