Job description

Premium Linguistic is recruiting Face-to-Face Interpreters in and around Uckfield.

This role is part-time and operates within office hours, not suitable for full-time employed individuals.

Interpreters convert spoken or sign language statements from one language to another, facilitating communication between people who do not share the same language.

If you speak one or more foreign languages and are interested in roles within politics, business, or public service, this position could be ideal for you. Key skills include good listening skills, a clear speaking voice, concentration, and quick thinking.

Interpreting involves listening, understanding, and memorizing content in the source language, then reproducing statements in the target language. This is typically one-way, into the interpreter's native language, but may also be two-way.

Settings where interpreters work:
  • Business functions such as meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and product launches
  • Criminal justice proceedings, including police and probation interviews
  • Court hearings, solicitor interviews, arbitration hearings, and immigration tribunals
  • Community events and assignments within education, health, and social services sectors
