Premium Linguistic is currently recruiting Face-to-Face Interpreters located in and around the Bexhill-on-Sea area.

This position is not suitable for full-time employed individuals, as we operate within standard office hours.

Role Overview

Interpreters convert spoken or sign language statements from one language to another. They work in situations where people who do not speak the same language need to understand each other.

If you can speak one or more foreign languages and are interested in roles within politics, business, or public service, this job might be suitable for you. Key skills include good listening abilities and a clear speaking voice.

You should also be able to concentrate and think quickly. Interpreting involves listening to, understanding, and memorizing content in the source language, then reproducing statements, questions, and speeches in the target language. This is often one-way, usually into the interpreter's native language, but can also be two-way.

Work Settings

1. Business functions such as meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and product launches.
2. Criminal justice proceedings, including police and probation interviews (public service interpreting).
3. Court hearings, solicitor interviews, arbitration hearings, and immigration tribunals.
4. Community-based events and assignments within education, health, and social services sectors.
