The purpose of this post is to identify and train doctors to be clinical teachers. It is aimed at applicants looking for posts at ST1-2/ST3+ equivalent. This is a challenging post that will test skills that are not the focus of most clinical training roles yet are highly relevant and transferable to senior clinical roles. This post will encompass more than just teaching and will commence from August 2025.
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is the main provider of acute hospital services for around half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and mid Wales.
Encompassing some of the most picturesque parts of England and Wales, the Trust’s catchment area stretches from the Cambrian Mountains in the west to Newport and the Black Country in the east. Main towns include Bridgnorth, Ludlow, Market Drayton, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, and Whitchurch (Shropshire); Newport, Telford, and Wellington (Telford & Wrekin); and Newtown and Welshpool (Powys). These areas are known for their beauty and uniqueness.
Our main service locations are the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) in Shrewsbury, located about 20 minutes apart. Together, they provide 99% of our activity, offering a wide range of acute hospital services including accident & emergency, outpatient services, diagnostics, inpatient medical care, and critical care.
