Job summary

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is offering bank shifts through Flexi-Bank in partnership with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The role supports adults in mental health and general care settings across Guildford and surrounding areas.

You will observe and record changes in patients, deliver person-centred care, and work within MDT guidance under the Mental Health Act. Training and dedicated temporary staffing support are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care desirable.
• Experience of working as a paid or unpaid carer.

Responsibilities

• Observe, report and record changes in clients’ physical health, mental health and behaviour.
• Deliver care and support in line with care plans and MDT guidance.
• Work in accordance with the Mental Health Act (MHA).
• Communicate effectively with clients, relatives and colleagues.
• Support daily living activities and maintain a safe environment.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic engagement.
• Assist in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care programmes.
• Develop professional relationships with colleagues and healthcare professionals to support recovery.
• Escort duties for clients as directed by the nurse in charge.
• Complete observations and report concerns to the nurse in charge.
