Job summary

Search Consultancy LTD is seeking an experienced M&E Operative / Wireman to support electrical installation on a major National Grid substation project in Melksham. The role involves wiring, installation to drawings, and ensuring safety and quality standards on site.

Must have NG Person, Electrical Gold Card, and prior substation experience. 50 hours per week, 07:30-17:30, temporary contract. ASAP start.

Qualifications

• Must hold NG Person qualification or equivalent.
• Electrical Gold Card is required.
• Experience in National Grid substations is essential.
• Strong health and safety understanding is required.
• Previous Wireman/M&E Operative experience in a substation environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical wiring and M&E installation activities on a substation project
• Work to drawings, specifications and site instructions
• Support the wider site team with installation and associated works
• Follow all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental procedures
• Work safely within a National Grid substation environment
• Complete allocated tasks within the required timescales
• Maintain high standards of workmanship
• Liaise with supervisors and other site personnel as required

Rate: £30 per hour

Contract: Temporary

Hours: 50 hours per week

Working Hours: 07:30-17:30

Role Overview:

We are currently looking for an experienced M&E Operative / Wireman to work on a major substation project in Melksham.

The successful candidate will support electrical installation and M&E works within a substation environment, working alongside the wider site team to ensure works are completed safely and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out electrical wiring and M&E installation activities on a substation project
• Work to drawings, specifications and site instructions
• Support the wider site team with installation and associated works
• Follow all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental procedures
• Work safely within a National Grid substation environment

Requirements:

• NG Person
• Electrical Gold Card
• Previous National Grid substation experience
• Relevant accreditations required to work within National Grid substations
• Strong understanding of site health and safety requirements
• Previous experience as a Wireman / M&E Operative within a substation environment
