Job description

Areyou a newly qualified General Practitioner with passion for delivering high-quality,patient-centred care? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at the Cowley Road Medical Practice, a vibrant,community-focused GP practice in East Oxford.

We are looking for a GP on a permanent contract to work six sessions a week.

The position will be part funded by resources made available through our Primary Care Network (East Oxford PCN) and as a Newly Qualified GP, you will be supported by, and work with, a diverse multi skilled professional team of clinical and non-clinical approachable staff. In return you will provide high quality, person centred clinical care to our patients.

You will be joining aclose-knit team with a rich mix of skills, experience, and knowledge, workingtogether to serve our diverse community which in term provides variety and a high level of job satisfaction.

Main duties of the job

The role will incorporate all the various aspects of day to day general practice in a combination of acute presentation of patients (through duty doctor sessions) as well as chronic disease/long term conditions monitoring and management (through routine telephone/face to face appointment sessions).

You will be provide:

  • GMSservices to the patient population of Cowley, Oxford.
  • A contribution to clinical administration duties.
  • A number of duty clinician sessions throughout the week.

Job responsibilities

Clinical

  • To provide assessment, diagnosis & treatment at first point ofcontact from a triage list & act as an autonomous clinician, with support fromclinical colleagues.
  • Proactively identify, diagnose & manage treatment plans for patientsat risk of developing a long-term condition.
  • Diagnose & manage both acute & chronic conditions, integratingboth drug & non-drug-based treatment methods into a management plan.
  • To accurately triage & prioritise patients, including in emergencysituations, demonstrating the use of a variety of techniques to elicit thehistory of an event/illness, including past medical & drug history.

Experience
  • GP Vocational or additional experience in general practice.

Knowledge and Skills
