The London Borough of Lewisham's Housing and Disrepair Litigation team is seeking to recruit a newly qualified lawyer to provide succinct legal advice and assistance primarily in disrepair and statutory nuisance, but also in relation to non-standard possession claims and anti-social behaviour claims. You will be expected to manage your own caseload, draft documents and pleadings. There will also be advocacy opportunities.

What the successful Newly Qualified Housing Lawyer will possess:

Our client is looking for an ambitious lawyer with a good knowledge and experience in Housing Law, especially in disrepair and statutory nuisance matters. The successful candidate must be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX/Chartered Legal Executive and be familiar with the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Equality Act 2010 and the Civil Procedure Rules. They must have good presentation skills and the ability to give clear and proactive legal advice.

Location

The Housing and Disrepair team is primarily based in Lewisham Council's Building at Laurence House in Catford, but they operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to attend the office twice a week at least.
