Job description

Protocol Education are currently recruiting teaching assistants to work in an outstanding school in Merton to start after Easter. This school offers teaching assistants the opportunity to work with all ages such as early years, primary, and secondary students and will provide training throughout the role. This particular school is looking for individuals who enjoy working with children of all ages, are comfortable working with special needs, and are passionate about making a positive impact on students' learning and development. No experience is required, but commitment, passion, and dedication are key attributes the school is looking for.


As a teaching assistant, you will be working in small class sizes of 6 - 8 students per class, where you will follow a set curriculum developing speech & language, teaching vocabulary and comprehension through visual resources, supporting students in core subjects such as numeracy and literacy, and assisting in creative lessons such as art, music, cooking, and sensory play.


The role:
  1. Monday to Friday
  2. A yearlong role, offering flexibility
  3. Working with special needs such as autism, speech & language, and learning difficulties
  4. Working with students in a set class of 6 - 8 students per class
  5. Developing students' communication and social awareness
  6. Opportunity to develop students' learning on a one-to-one basis
  7. Assisting in key subjects such as tailored numeracy & literacy
  8. Supporting students in creative lessons such as art, music, and cooking
