About the role:
We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Aboriginal professional to join our team in supporting children aged 10-17 who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour. You’ll work directly with these young people and their families, providing therapeutic interventions and culturally responsive support that enhances safety, restores relationships, and promotes healing and wellbeing.
Our early intervention approach focuses on holistic outcomes, including ceasing harmful behaviours, strengthening cultural identity, and fostering community connections. Aboriginal children in out-of-home care are prioritised, and cultural safety is at the heart of our work.
In this role, you will be well supported by both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal colleagues. Together, we provide coordinated and culturally embedded care that makes a lasting difference. Most clients receive medium to long-term support, averaging between 6 months and 2 years.
Your key responsibilities will include:
About our team:
We are a small, close-knit team with staff based in Tamworth and Newcastle, including four Aboriginal and six non-Aboriginal team members. Our work is grounded in collective practice - we review cases together, work in pairs, and provide mutual support to achieve the best outcomes for families.
We are deeply committed to supporting each other and creating a space where cultural knowledge is respected, shared, and central to our practice.
About you:
This is more than a role - it’s an opportunity to create meaningful, long-term change. You’re an Aboriginal professional who brings cultural insight, empathy, and therapeutic skill to your work. You understand the importance of early intervention, cultural connection, and family involvement in helping children and young people thrive.
If you’re ready to be part of a compassionate, committed team that values Aboriginal worldviews and collective impact, we’d love to hear from you!
