Job summary

Safran Actuation Systems UK is seeking a New Product Introduction Engineer for its Wolverhampton site. You will lead manufacturing planning and implementation of new products and processes, collaborating with design teams to influence development from early stages through ramp-up.

You will own PFMEA, control plans, process simulation, pilot builds and production readiness, ensuring robust, cost-effective solutions and smooth transitions to series production while aligning with Lean and APQP

Qualifications

Degree or apprenticeship in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Product Design or related field.
Strong experience in NPI and full product lifecycle industrialisation.
Proven track record of introducing new products and processes into production.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, DFx and best practices.
Understanding of product development, industrialisation, assembly and test processes.
Ability to influence design and work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
Understanding of Systems engineering / V-model principles including requirements management, process verification and validation.

Responsibilities

Lead manufacturing planning and implementation of new products and facilities.
Acting as a key interface across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations, and a key member of the Integrated Project Team (IPT).
Apply Systems Engineering V-model principles, define manufacturing system requirements and influence product design & development through DFx, Lean Manufacturing and APQP methodologies.
Own the design, development and validation of manufacturing processes, including PFMEA, control plans, process simulation & verification, pilot build validation, and production readiness reviews.
