Job summary

Safran Actuation Systems UK, based in Wolverhampton, seeks a technical leader to define, develop, and implement advanced manufacturing technologies across the Actuation business. You will lead feasibility studies, trials, and readiness assessments to drive efficiency, safety, and cost improvements while aligning with product requirements and strategic objectives.

You will champion automation, robotics, digital manufacturing, and data-driven improvements, ensuring smooth technology transitions

Qualifications

• Degree or apprenticeship in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience implementing new manufacturing technologies or automation.
• Strong knowledge of process validation and capability studies.
• Experience leading trials and production implementation.
• Lean manufacturing and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build business cases and justify investments.
• Strong data analysis and decision-making ability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for advanced manufacturing technologies and production systems.
• Define technology roadmaps and identify opportunities to improve manufacturing capability, flexibility and efficiency.
• Lead feasibility studies, trials, proof-of-concept activities, technology validation and readiness assessments.
• Support NPI activities and ensure manufacturing technology requirements are included in production systems.
• Lead the introduction of new technologies into production and conduct capability and validation activities.
• Drive automation, robotics, digitalisation and Smart Factory initiatives.
• Lead data-driven improvement activities.
