Job description

We're looking for a Food Product Developer to support all product development activities within our chilled range categories. You will ensure the timely and complete execution of Existing Product Development (EPD) and New Product Development (NPD) processes.

You’ll be involved in the full Concept to Launch process, analysing category data to identify opportunities for Morrisons, and staying updated on market trends to keep Morrisons products competitive. Regular benchmarking sessions will be part of your role to ensure targets are met. The role is primarily based at Greenside manufacturing site, with occasional meetings at Morrisons Head Office in Bradford, site visits, and possible weekend work during peak seasons.

Responsibilities include:

1. Supporting the concept to launch process
2. Assisting the NPD Specialist and Manager in delivering the Site Product Development Plan
3. Participating in customer research listening groups and debriefs
4. Providing category analysis based on trusted data sources
5. Collaborating with the operations team to ensure chilled products are best in class
6. Working with technical experts to maintain product quality for Morrisons customers
7. Pricing products profitably and ensuring margin expectations are met
8. Preparing and pricing samples for customer presentations in a timely manner

About you

You should have a passion for food, an eye for detail, and ideally some knowledge of the chilled market and food development processes. Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to influence stakeholders are essential. Enthusiasm, drive, and commercial judgment are also key qualities.
