A food manufacturing company in Cranbrook is seeking a candidate for a role involving coordination of customer briefs and product development. Key responsibilities include recipe formulation, documentation of product processes, costings, and collaboration with technical teams to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Understanding food hygiene and allergen management is essential for success in this role.
This role is centered on the co-ordination of customer or internally generated briefs through ingredient sourcing, sample preparation/approval, factory trial and release to production.
Clear lines of communication must be maintained with Account Managers and Production Management throughout. As circumstances require, this resource will be involved with internal product and process refinements.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
·Recipe formulation and sample preparation through to first production run. Organise sample transportation.
·Document fully and effectively product formulations through the development process.
·Draft product costings with focus on accurate recipe costing, working closely with the Sales Manager.
·Work with technical team to supply product specification information.
·Support technical team in QAS production.
·Present to customers as necessary, which may include off site visits.
Factory Support
·Provide support for all existing product recipes, recommend improvements and potential cost saving opportunities.
·Liaise with Production management to ensure new products and processes accord with the capability of the factory.
·Collaboration with Technical function on performance assessment of existing range.
Factory Rules and Legislation
·Compliance with factory rules at all times.
·Understanding of basic food hygiene practices, allergen management policies and HACCP principles.
