The role

We’re seeking a motivated New Business Account Executive with a background in Motor Trade Insurance (general Commercial considered) to join us at Jensten Motor Trade, part of the Jensten Group.

We are one of the leading providers of specialist, exclusive, and cost-effective insurance products to the Motor trade. Our business focuses on providing a “better service” to our clients by handling business in-house — we don’t outsource!

Reporting to the Director and working closely with our dedicated Account Handlers, you’ll be based in the Midlands to support our regional growth. You’ll work remotely, except when visiting prospect clients.

The main purpose of the role is to drive new business and grow a client book in the Midlands, focusing on expansion. Leads will be provided, and you will generate some yourself, while also managing occasional existing clients.

Key objectives & responsibilities include:

  • Offer and present insurance solutions, including policies and risk management options, to secure renewals and new business.
  • Assist team performance through regular communication with colleagues and managers, raising concerns and proposing solutions.
  • Identify and pursue cross-selling, up-selling, and similar opportunities. Develop new methods to increase quote volume using all provided leads.
  • Achieve or exceed targets for quotes, sales, and income from all marketing sources, including personal prospecting.
  • Understand clients’ business operations, opportunities, risks, and risk management approaches.
  • Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.

About you

You are someone who enjoys connecting with others and creating new business relationships, with a natural flair for sales. You can build and strengthen relationships easily, attend client visits, and communicate regularly. You have a passion for providing solutions and a talent for spotting opportunities to benefit clients.

As an Account Executive, you will also be or have:

  • A background in Commercial Insurance
  • A passion and flair for new business (essential)
  • Experience in generating new business (preferable)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • An excellent telephone manner, with ability to network and build relationships
  • Drive and a genuine passion to learn and develop in Insurance and sales
  • Previous experience in a similar role, working with insurers and clients
  • Good attention to detail and ability to multi-task, including updating systems and admin
  • A full UK Driving Licence — willing to travel to prospect clients as needed
