Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust Audiology invites applications from newly qualified Audiologists to join our team. You will work under supervision to develop essential diagnostic and rehabilitation skills for both adult and paediatric patients.

You must have a BSc Audiology or equivalent (BAAT/CAC or CCC-diploma) and NHS or equivalent experience. The role covers routine audiological investigations, hearing aid fitting and follow-up, plus clinic support for ENT services.

Qualifications

• BSc Audiology or equivalent (BAAT or CAC qualifications, or an approved diploma with CCC).
• NHS or other experience consistent with your qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine audiological investigations on individuals of all ages, to support the differential diagnosis of auditory dysfunction.
• Agree aural rehabilitation for adult patients, including the selection, fitting and exchange of NHS digital hearing aids, taking of aural impressions and advising on assistive listening devices.
• Complete routine follow up checks of hearing aid use
• Undertake routine hearing aid repair/servicing clinics
• Assist in the performance of tests and auditory rehabilitation programmes for young children.
• Assist with the performance of advanced tests of middle ear function, vestibular function tests, tinnitus evaluation and objective measurement procedures.
• Perform ward visits to in patients requiring assessment or hearing aid issue or repair
• Provide audiological support for ENT and Audiological Medicine clinics
• Undertake assessments of patients with hearing difficulties using the direct referral system, under supervision as appropriate.
• Manage own time effectively to include planning of workload in collaboration with other team members.
