The South West London and Surrey Neuroscience Network (SWLSNN) brings together partners from across South West London and Surrey to drive clinically-led improvements in outcomes and quality of care across patient pathways, in patient experience, and in value for money.
The Network supports organisations, clinicians and patients by providing access to specialist resources and expertise, including objective analysis and advice on strategic change and co-commissioning.
The network is responsible for networked delivery of 4 nationally prescribed specialised services within the wider SW London and Surrey region:
Neurosurgery,Spinal Surgery,Neurology andSpecialised Rehabilitation
Specialised commissioned activity for these 4 services is managed through the Neurosciences Directorate at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (part of St George’s Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Group).
It is recognised that there is an important interface between the SWLSNN and Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Cancer Alliances, Major trauma and Paediatric networks. This will be facilitated as required through the SWLSNN in collaboration with relevant networks and commissioners.
Clinical leadership enables partnership working to achieve benefits, in particular reconfiguration of pathways through prioritisation of interventions which will result in significant savings, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective patient care.

Working closely with the Network Clinical Leads, the Network board, and operational teams, the Strategic Network Manager will be a specialist resource to theSWLSNN to oversee and support delivery of the national specifications and to support cross-organisational working and service transformation. They will develop and deliver the strategic and operational plans to achieve stated objectives effectively and to time, ensuring that the necessary infrastructure and expertise is available to meet the needs of the agreed work plan.
