Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (North Wales) is seeking a dynamic clinical pharmacist with a focus on neurosciences to lead a proactive, patient-centred specialist pharmacy service. You will work with consultants, specialist nurses and allied health professionals to optimise medicines use and support complex clinical decisions across primary and secondary care.

Qualifications

• MPharm degree or equivalent.
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Post Graduate MSc/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience and/or qualifications
• Desirable: Royal Pharmaceutical Society membership or related teaching/leadership qualifications
• Desirable: Non-medical prescribing qualification (or working towards)

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe and effective specialist clinical pharmacy service to allocated area.
• Undertake professional and clinical pharmacist duties.
• Provide expert pharmaceutical advice and support within primary and secondary care as required.
• Develop, promote evidence-based, cost-effective use of medicines.
• Involve in training of diploma, pre-registration, and other pharmacists.
• Provide clinical training and supervision of pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Develop and deliver practice research, service and quality improvement initiatives.
• Develop policies, protocols and guidelines within allocated area and work with service users and colleagues to achieve optimum outcomes.

Education
