An exciting opportunity for a Consultant Neuroradiologist to join a high-performing imaging department in the East Midlands has opened up. The successful applicant will bring expertise in neuroimaging and support, providing acute MRI and CT angiography services while actively contributing to stroke pathways and specialist multidisciplinary teams.

You’ll join a dynamic team that performs nearly 400,000 imaging procedures annually, offering diagnostic and interventional radiology across a broad clinical spectrum using state-of-the-art technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality diagnostic neuroimaging services, including acute MRI and CT angiography
• Participate in the neuroimaging on-call rota to support acute stroke services
• Contribute to general radiology workload, including cross-sectional and plain film reporting
• Support and lead MDTs, working closely with clinical teams across specialities
• Provide clinical supervision, coaching and mentorship to trainees and junior colleagues
• Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in annual appraisal, revalidation, and continued professional development
• Actively contribute to research or academic interests aligned with departmental goals

Person Specification:

Qualifications & Training (Essential):

• Complete GMC registration with a licence to practise
• FRCR or equivalent
• On the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT/CESR(CP) at the time of interview
• Experience in teaching, clinical audit, or academic publication

Experience & Skills (Essential):

• Proven experience in acute and diagnostic neuroradiology
• Proficiency in CT angiography, neuro-MRI reporting, and support for acute stroke imaging
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaborative working skills
• Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to teaching programmes
• Strong commitment to patient safety, service improvement, and professional development
• Understanding of NHS reforms and healthcare system transformation
• Experience working in large regional networks or service redesign initiatives
