Job description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide high-standard patient care in accordance with the vision and values in Neurology within the Department of Medicine. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing inpatient care for Neurology patients admitted to the hospital, either as the primary or covering physician during rest hours, weekends, holidays, or vacations of the primary physician, accepting the associated inconveniences.
  • Offering care to Neurology patients in the ambulatory care facility, with service duration and frequency dictated by organizational, departmental, and divisional needs.
  • Providing Neurology consultation services to other divisions within the Department of Medicine and other departments during regular and on-call hours.
  • Performing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions in neurological disorders, based on granted privileges.
  • Participating in interpreting and reporting neurological procedures such as EEG, Evoked Potentials, Nerve Conduction studies, and performing EMG.
  • Participating in on-call coverage according to departmental rules and regulations.
  • Actively participating in the department's Quality Improvement programs.
  • Supervising and role-modeling for subordinates, especially trainees, and supervising Neurophysiology Technologists.
  • Serving on various departmental, divisional, and organizational committees as appointed.
  • Engaging in scientific research and contributing to educational activities, postgraduate training, and neurophysiology training programs.
  • Adhering to all organizational rules, regulations, professional, and ethical standards, including compliance with APPs and IPPs and the Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • Maintaining respectful interactions with patients, families, colleagues, subordinates, and healthcare team members.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Graduation from a reputable medical school, with completion of specialized training in Neurology/Neurophysiology recognized by international boards or equivalent, and a Saudi-recognized certification. Dataflow verification is mandatory.

Professional Experience

Minimum of 3-4 years post-board/fellowship experience in neurology. Must be a registered member of the Saudi Board Council.

Language

Proficiency in English is required; additional proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
