Job summary

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks a neurology consultant to provide a comprehensive outpatient service for the catchment area, with scope for specialist clinics, research, and teaching as required.

The postholder will deliver inpatient reviews when needed, support junior staff, and contribute to service development. Complex cases may be referred to Oxford as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of Specialty Training (CST or equivalent) or within 6 months of achieving it in relevant specialty.
• General training in Neurology to specialist level or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience as a consultant at a secondary care hospital.
• Full registration with General Medical Council.
• Enthusiasm and willingness to collaborate across UHN to improve patient outcomes for all.

Responsibilities

• Manage general neurology patients and maintain high clinical standards.
• Provide a full range of neurological services and contribute to service development.
• Conduct outpatient clinics and inpatient ward referrals.
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement (minimum three audits in five years).
• No out-of-hours on-call duties.
