Job summary

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join the Neurosciences service at the Norwich hospital. This full-time post involves specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with stroke and a range of neurological conditions, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

Specialist OT to assess physical, cognitive, perceptual, sensory and psychosocial needs.
Deliver evidence-based, patient-centred rehabilitation.Lead on complex discharges and equipment needs.
Supervise junior OT staff and therapy assistants.
Contribute to service development and CPD.

Responsibilities

Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and plan individualized care.
Implement rehabilitation programmes to maximise independence and quality of life.
Lead on complex discharges and equipment provision.
Manage clinical risk including moving and handling considerations.
Lead complex discharge planning with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
Supervise junior staff and students.
