Job summary

Active Care Group is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant for its Chislehurst Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Greater London. The role supports HCPC-registered therapists by delivering rehab programmes and assisting with mobility, transfers, and daily care.

The position involves a 42-hour weekly rota, with opportunities for specialist training and progression within a large UK complex-care provider. Salary is pro rata from £31,207.59 FTE.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a healthcare, rehabilitation or therapy environment.
• Understanding of disability, neurological conditions and rehabilitation principles.
• Ability to work flexibly across a 7-day rota and commence shifts at ward start times.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group rehabilitation programmes as prescribed and delegated by HCPC-registered therapists.
• Undertake treatment sessions or components of treatment under guidance, following therapy care plans and risk assessments.
• Support patients with mobility, positioning, transfers, self-care and functional rehabilitation activities as directed.
• Assist with personal care and rehabilitative activities during the first part of the shift in collaboration with Healthcare Assistants and nursing staff.
• Observe, monitor and accurately report patient progress, tolerance and response to treatment to the supervising therapist.
• Maintain timely, accurate and confidential clinical documentation.
• Recognise own limitations, maintain professional boundaries and seek advice or escalation when required.
