Job summary

The University of Sheffield is seeking a Research Associate in Multimodal Neuroimaging to contribute to a Wellcome Trust funded MRI project. The role emphasizes developing MR acquisition protocols and robust data analysis pipelines for preclinical xenon imaging with a view toward human translation.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Physics (2.1 or higher) required.
• PhD (or near completion) in MRI Physics or Medical Image Computing desirable.
• Track record of publication in MR/imaging journals, with at least one first author publication.
• Programming proficiency required.
• Experience collaborating in interdisciplinary teams and strong communication.
• Proven project completion and deadline management.
• Experience in image processing and data analysis pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan pulse sequences and acquisition parameters for preclinical data.
• Communicate engineering requirements to colleagues/companies to ensure robust solutions.
• Assess and optimise data quality in real time during acquisition.
• Tailor image processing methods to derive clinically relevant metrics.
• Present results at national and international conferences.
• Contribute to data management in line with FAIR principles.
• Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade.

Education
