RTN Mental Health Solutions is on a mission to transform neurodevelopmental assessments, placing clinical excellence and compassionate care at the centre of everything we do. As part of this, our RTN Academy supports Trainee Neurodevelopmental Practitioners through a comprehensive training journey — and now we’re looking for a passionate and organised Assessment Team Leader to provide hands-on guidance and day-to-day oversight.

About the Role

The Assessment Team Leader plays a key role in supporting our team of Trainee Practitioners as they develop the skills to deliver high-quality autism and ADHD assessments. Working closely with the Academy Manager, you’ll coordinate workflows, offer informal clinical guidance, and help ensure the consistency and quality of diagnostic assessments using tools like ADOS and ADI-R. Full training in ADOS and ADI-R will be provided as part of the role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring, encouraging professional growth, and driving high standards in neurodevelopmental services.

Key Responsibilities

Team Support & Coordination

  • Act as the main point of contact for a team of approximately 6 Trainee Neurodevelopmental Practitioners
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities, monitor progress, and offer informal support and encouragement
  • Hold regular check-ins and assist with scheduling, workload queries, and wellbeing concerns

Clinical Development & Oversight

  • Support Practitioners with the completion of neurodevelopmental assessments, offering guidance and troubleshooting where needed
  • Conduct ADHD and ASD assessments using standardised tools such as ADOS and ADI-R, and support team members in building their competence with these tools
  • Review written summaries and clinical observations to ensure they meet RTN’s standards
  • Promote reflective practice and ongoing skills development across the team

Training & Onboarding

  • Support the onboarding process for new Trainee Practitioners
  • Help deliver informal training sessions, workshops, and shadowing opportunities in collaboration with Clinical Leads
  • Contribute to a positive, learning-focused environment

Workflow Monitoring & Communication

  • Maintain assessment trackers and monitor progress against timelines
  • Represent the team in internal meetings and communicate relevant updates
  • Ensure shared documentation is accurate, timely and professionally presented

About You

  • Experience in a clinical or applied setting (e.g. psychology, mental health, or neurodevelopmental services), ideally at Assistant Psychologist level, with additional experience supporting, training, or managing others
  • Proven ability to coordinate small teams or workflows
  • Comfortable providing support and facilitating reflective conversations
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written communication, with the ability to review and provide feedback on clinical summaries
  • Ability to escalate concerns and communicate effectively across clinical levels
  • Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above, or equivalent)
  • Experience contributing to audit, quality improvement, or service development
  • CPD or further training related to autism, ADHD, or mental health

Company Benefits

  • Company pension
  • Remote working with occasional in-person training or meetings
  • Supportive and inclusive team culture

Why Join RTN?

  • Be part of an innovative, forward-thinking organisation
  • Play a key role in shaping the development of future neurodevelopmental clinicians
  • Work within a collaborative, reflective and high-performing team
  • Grow your leadership skills in a remote-first environment

If you’re passionate about neurodevelopmental services and want to help guide and support the next generation of clinical professionals, we’d love to hear from you.
