Job summary

The National Autistic Society is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join our transdisciplinary team at Sybil Elgar School, supporting autistic children and young people with diverse needs. The role focuses on communication, interaction, participation and access to learning within a neuroaffirming, evidence-informed framework.

You will deliver assessments, interventions, and reviews, working collaboratively with teachers, families and other professionals to embed effective communication

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist and RCSLT member.
• Experience or strong interest in autistic children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver speech and language therapy assessment, intervention, advice and reviews for pupils with diverse communication needs.
• Support pupils’ communication, interaction, emotional regulation, and access to curriculum using various strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and professionals to embed communication approaches in daily practice.
