Job summary

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 6 physiotherapist for a neuroscience rotation across St George’s Hospital (Tooting), St John’s (Wandsworth) and Queen Mary’s Hospital (Roehampton). The post supports acute stroke, neuro-rehab, neurology and neuro-outpatients within the Neurosciences Therapy Department.

Responsibilities

• Undertake specialised neurological assessment of own caseload of patients, who may have complex presentations, and from this assessment formulate a treatment plan and carry out this treatment as an autonomous practitioner
• Supervise and teach peers, recently qualified physiotherapists, physiotherapy technicians and assistants/students
• Be involved in teaching MDT staff
• Undertakes evidence-based projects, includingmakingrecommendations for change in practice andparticipatingin departmental research and auditas appropriate
• Deputise for physiotherapy team leaders in operational management
• Undertakes a specialised neurological assessment of own workload of patients, who may have complex presentations, and from this assessment formulates a treatment plan and carries out this treatment as an autonomous practitioner
• Supervises and teaches peers, recently qualified physiotherapists/physiotherapy technicians and assistants/students
• Involved in teaching MDT staff
• Undertakes evidence-based projects, including making recommendations for change in practice and participating in departmental research and audit as appropriate
