Job summary

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Clinical Support Assistant to join the Walkergate Park team in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role involves assisting physiotherapists to deliver rehabilitation for patients with complex neurological conditions.

The successful candidate will work with inpatients under supervision, support hydrotherapy and group sessions, and contribute to a multidisciplinary team while developing skills through supervision and in-service

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Ability to use IT system.
• Flexible time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to establish rapport with service users.
• Experience of moving and handling people.
• Ability to cope with distressing/emotional situations.
• Enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, confident, reliable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering physiotherapy care to inpatients under the direction of a registered physiotherapist.
• Work with patients with neurological conditions and cognitive/behavioural needs.
• Carry out rehabilitation programmes as directed by therapists.
• Work as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Support hydrotherapy and group sessions, including pool area maintenance.
• Provide compassionate care with empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
• Engage in supervision and appraisal as per Trust policy.
