Job summary

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a lead for the Neuro-Orthoptic service to deliver expert, evidence-based care for complex patients. The role offers clinical leadership, teaching, and collaboration with the Ophthalmology team across a range of conditions, including tertiary referrals.

The post holder will supervise, audit and drive quality improvements while supporting operational development of the Orthoptic service.

Qualifications

• Lead and deliver a high-quality Neuro-Orthoptic service.
• Provide expert assessment, diagnosis and management for complex patients.
• Provide training, supervision, audit and quality improvement.
• Collaborate with Ophthalmologists and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead dedicated Neuro-Orthoptic clinics and clinical care.
• Support Orthoptic service management and wider service development.
• Provide specialist clinical advice and work autonomously when needed.
• Support staff development and professional practice within the team.
