Job Description:

Amazon Shipping is looking to hire an analytical, technically skilled, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Network Topology and Capacity Planner who can drive innovation and execution in transportation networks. As a member of the EU Amazon Shipping team, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build a scalable and cost-optimized network topology for SWA EU.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a team at the start of its journey. You will help design, build, and implement a Collections Network that exceeds customer expectations.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Work with First and Middle Mile teams to coordinate topology design and incorporate the plan into forecasting cycles.
  2. Run simulations to support optimized topology decisions for SWA.
  3. Collaborate with Network Capacity teams to develop quarterly capacity solutions and event planning alongside other volume streams.
  4. Coordinate with Last Mile teams on Mechanical and Labour Capacity and suggest topology remapping for optimization.
  5. Create reports comparing cost-optimized and capacity-optimized solutions.
  6. Automate analysis processes using scripts and tools like Python and R to reduce manual work.
  7. Analyze live operations data to identify opportunities for topology improvements.
  8. Define proxy data and heuristics for unknown information and establish onboarding guardrails.
  9. Set parameters and success criteria for live tests to validate or invalidate hypotheses in models.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in defining requirements and using data and metrics for business insights.
  • Proficiency with Excel.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Ability to make business recommendations and influence stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Excel skills (VBA, pivot tables, array functions, Power Pivots) and data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Experience in business or financial analysis.
  • Background in logistics, finance, or related analytical fields.
