Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a Network Technician to join our Water Project Management team in the UK, working across Sheffield/Bradford with office and field duties.

You will analyze and resolve complex water network issues, develop pressure and flow management schemes, and create risk-mitigation plans while liaising with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving license is required.
• Clean Water Experience is required.
• Experience in water engineering, utilities, or related technical roles.

Responsibilities

• Propose and support flow/pressure management schemes with cost-benefit analysis.
• Analyze data from metering software, logged networks, and other sources.
• Use GIS for network mapping, tracing mains, and supporting DMA/PMA planning.
• Identify network anomalies and design asset management solutions.
• Build risk mitigation plans and method statements.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Plan and schedule project resources to meet deadlines.
• Track project progress, hours, and deliver client-ready reports.
• Support on-field delivery and HSEQ compliance.
• Participate in Health & Safety activities; line management where required.
• Conduct surveys and inspections of existing drainage systems.
• Analyze water samples to ensure healthy water.

Network Technician

Yorkshire Water Contract - Lanes / SUS

We are currently recruiting for Network Technician to join our team ,you'll work within our Water Project Management team to analyse and resolve complex water network issues. You'll develop pressure and flow management schemes, and create risk-mitigation plans.

Due to a contract win we are looking for applicants all around the Yorkshire Regions

Working Hours & Location:

• Location: Sheffield / Bradford - Operative & Office
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5pm 45 hours per week
• Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (Depending on suitability)
• Benefit: Company Van

About the Role

As a Network Technician, you will:

• Propose and support flow/pressure management schemes with cost-benefit analysis.
• Analyse data from metering software, logged networks, and other sources.
• Use GIS for network mapping, tracing mains, and supporting DMA/PMA planning.
• Identify network anomalies and design asset management solutions.
• Build risk mitigation plans and method statements.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Plan and schedule project resources to meet deadlines.
• Track project progress, hours, and deliver client-ready reports.
• Support on-field delivery (e.g., probe work, isolations) and HSEQ compliance.
• Participate in the Health & Safety committee; line manage where required.
• Conduct surveys and inspections of existing drainage systems.
• Analyse and interpret data from surveys and inspections.
• Ensure that all drainage systems comply plans.
• Analyse water samples to ensure healthy water

Experience and Qualifications: (Desirable but not essential unless stated as required)

• Experience in water engineering, utilities, or a related technical roles.
• Knowledge of trunk mains / distribution network principles.
• Full UK driving license (Required)
• Clean Water Experience (Required)

Full training in the above will be provided if not already obtained.
