Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Network Engineer to join our team with expertise in virtualisation, storage, backups & VDI. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage resilient network infrastructure solutions that ensure optimal reliability, scalability, and performance. Reporting to Tech Operations Manager, you will be working as a part of a small team providing remote and on-site network infrastructure support for the business in the UK and International.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
  • Configure and install software and network devices
  • Monitor network performance and integrity
  • Resolve issues escalated by support teams by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
  • Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
  • Mentor team members on technical issues
  • Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
  • Communicate with users when needed
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
Qualifications
  • Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator
  • Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP) or proven knowledge on this lever
  • Solid background in network administration and architecture
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP)
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security
  • Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python, Perl) is an advantage
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools)
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco NX-OS, IOS-XE)
  • Proven experience with Palo Alto firewalls (Panorama, PAN-OS, LSVPN)
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organizational and mentoring skills
