Job description

Network Support Analyst - Cisco CCNA – European Bank - City London

Our client is seeking to recruit a Network Support Analyst with Cisco CCNA certification and a proven track record of 4 to 7 years.

This support role involves Business As Usual (BAU) activities, supporting existing infrastructure, and participating in the design of scalable solutions through projects.

The role encompasses various technologies aimed at high-availability solutions.

The ideal candidate is a quick thinker, capable of diagnosing issues, assisting colleagues, and resolving BAU support problems.

Responsibilities include maintaining documentation and networking diagrams for support and internal audits, as well as root cause analysis.

Key duties

  1. Support and deliver all aspects of services within the Infrastructure team.
  2. Manage BAU activities including networks, telephony, PABX, voice recording, desk moves, and changes.
  3. Support annual Disaster Recovery testing and invocation.
  4. Contribute to the design, build, and implementation of firewall solutions from perimeter to DMZ.
  5. Develop, maintain, and enforce global standards for networking devices.
  6. Interpret network security reports.
  7. Assist with migrating the network estate to a new security framework.
  8. Facilitate internal and external audits and penetration testing, including remediation.

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco technologies, including firewalls, switches, and routing protocols.
  • Experience supporting data centers with branch interconnectivity (LES circuits).
  • Cisco CCNA certification is required.
  • Knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSEC).
  • Security certifications are advantageous.

Technologies

Layer 2 Switching, Layer 3 Routing, VPN IPSEC & SSL, TACACS, RADIUS, NAT/PAT, VSS, high availability, failover technologies, and first hop redundancy protocols.

This is a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line network support position, ensuring the support and operation of the client's applications and services.

The client is based in the City of London, near Liverpool Street.

The salary range is £45K - £60K plus banking benefits.
