Job summary

McGregor Boyall Associates Limited seeks an experienced Network Splunk Developer to join a large enterprise network environment in Chester. You will own telemetry, monitoring and observability across a complex estate, building dashboards, alerts and data pipelines in Splunk.

The role requires hands-on Splunk expertise, strong knowledge of SNMP, syslog and telemetry streams, and the ability to translate network data into actionable operational insights.

Qualifications

• 46 years' experience in network operations, telemetry, monitoring or data analysis.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, wireless and SD-WAN.
• Hands-on Splunk experience covering data ingestion, searches, dashboards and alerting.
• Experience with SNMP, syslog, telemetry streams, APIs and device metrics.
• Ability to translate network telemetry into actionable operational insights.
• Familiarity with incident, problem and change management.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support during major network rollouts and changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, normalise and onboard network device telemetry, metrics, logs and events into Splunk.
• Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards, searches, visualisations and alerts for Network Operations.
