National Energy System Operator Limited (NESO) seeks a Network Security Service Delivery Engineer to shape and govern the architectural framework for network security across on‑premises, cloud and hybrid environments. This role focuses on strategy, standards and roadmaps, not daily implementation, while mentoring teams and driving secure scalable designs.

You will lead adoption of automation, DevOps practices, and cross‑functional collaboration with cloud, infrastructure and application teams to

Qualifications

• Extensive demonstrable experience in network security, in Architecture or Lead role.
• Expert level knowledge of routing/switching and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/2, TLS 1.3, IPsec, SDWAN).
• On‑premise and cloud firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, ZScaler).
• Cloud Native Networking in AWS/Azure (VPCs, PrivateLink, Security Groups, WAF).
• TOGAF, SABSA, or CISSP‑ISSAP.
• CCNP Security/CCIE/PCNSE/NSE7/8 certifications.
• Terraform/CloudFormation, Python/Ansible for automation.
• Ability to produce HLD/LLD diagrams and executive presentations.
• ITIL and Agile methodologies in security context.
• ISO 27001, NIST, SOC2 governance; security monitoring and KPIs.
• Right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end network security architecture for on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Define and publish enterprise‑wide security standards and architectural roadmaps.
• Lead security automation, orchestration, and DevOps integrations.
• Mentor engineering and operations teams and provide technical direction.
• Act as technical authority for stakeholders on network security best practices.
• Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and application teams to align security with business needs.
• Define measurable security metrics, KPIs and executive reporting.
