The role
As a Network Operations Support Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the contract to manage and operate Skynet, the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) military satellite communications system and ground stations.

Day-to-day, you’ll provide engineering support to the Network Operations Centre, ensuring smooth delivery of services and incident investigations.

  • Provide engineering advice and knowledge to members of the Network Operations Centre.
  • Assist in delivering and maintaining, new technologies and services into the Skynet Network.
  • Lead major incident investigations, providing updates and reports.
  • Act as a conduit between teams, providing daily updates on ongoing incidents.
  • Provide operational cover in times of high workload.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at our Corsham, Wiltshire site.

Essential experience of the Network Operations Support Engineer

  • Broad understanding of data communications.
  • Significant experience in IP switching and routing.
  • Previous experience or familiarity within satellite communications would be highly beneficial.
  • Previously held responsibilities within Incident Management

Qualifications for the Network Operations Support Engineer

Ideally you will be qualified to CCNA level however, we value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience then we would like to hear from you.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
