Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer to join our London-based team. This is a technical, hands-on role focused on network monitoring, firewall management, and infrastructure maintenance. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in network operations and a strong background in routing, switching, and security.

You will play a key role in ensuring network stability, performing firmware upgrades, managing day-to-day operations, and maintaining documentation. This position is not a leadership role but requires a proactive approach to network management and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Monitoring & Maintenance
• NOC experience is critical for this role.
• Ensure optimal performance and availability of network infrastructure.
• Utilize tools such as SolarWinds and Infoblox for monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Firewall & Infrastructure Management
• Oversee daily network operations, including firewall changes and firmware upgrades.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ASA Firepower and Checkpoint (Fortinet is a plus).
• Routing & Switching
• Expertise in Meraki WiFi, Cisco ACI, routing, and switching.
• Perform packet analysis using Wireshark.
• Documentation & Process Improvement
• Maintain and enhance runbooks and network documentation.
• Support best practices for network operations and security.

The Successful Applicant

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Must-have:

• 8-10 years of hands-on experience in network operations.
• Strong background in firewall management, routing, and switching.
• NOC experience is critical for this role.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with RSA and Zscaler.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS is a plus but not required).

On-Call Support

• Participate in a 1-week on-call rotation every 5 weeks.
• Some flexibility for out-of-hours support as needed.

Certifications in Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint are nice to have.

What's on Offer

This role offers hybrid working - 2 days per week minimum on site.

Offers a package of £90,000 base salary with a great bonus structure.
