The Senior Technical Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure. This includes routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points and other related hardware. The Senior Engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting network issues and providing technical support to internal staff.

The role is home-based with requirement to travel (field)

What you'll do

• Customer Design:
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of our technical product functionalities and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, from high-level overviews to in-depth technical discussions.
  • Support customer engagements with Presales team, offering technical expertise on-site and remotely.
  • Conduct testing and validation of new equipment, technologies, and services for interoperability before deployment.
  • Lead technical design of connectivity & TV infrastructure, including site surveys, configuration creation, detailed documentation, and troubleshooting.
• In-Life Operations:
  • Provide third-line support for complex issues and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Oversee operational delivery of projects and solutions ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain edge network infrastructure for optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
  • Manage configuration and change processes.
  • Maintain relationships with hardware and software vendors, understanding their roadmaps and impacts.

What you'll bring:

• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Experience configuring and deploying Juniper Mist, Ruckus, Cisco, or Cradlepoint WAN/LAN/WLAN products.
• Experience with wireless controllers, switches, access points, and routers.
• Knowledge of network design including SD-WAN.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional certifications such as CWNP, CCNP, JNCIS or equivalent.
• Expertise in 802.11 wireless technologies and wireless network design, preferably using Ekahau or similar tools.
• Experience with APIs and scripting (Python, Bash, etc) is advantageous.
• Understanding of SMATV, IPTV, and Fibre distribution systems is advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
