Your New role

National Highways has an excellent opportunity for a Network Occupancy Co-ordinator to join our team in the North West region. This role is within our Operations directorate and focuses on processing and tracking requests and bookings for road space and abnormal loads on the network. You will analyze and coordinate abnormal load requests, notices, and permits, including internal and third-party works.

What you’ll be leading on

  • Provide feedback and guidance on requests, notices, and permits for network occupancy.
  • Maintain and oversee the management of information in the National Highways Network Occupancy Management System and other related systems accurately and promptly.
  • Manage the coordination of Abnormal Loads by determining routes for special-order loads and ensuring their timely and accurate delivery. Manage specific movement files, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage communications regarding booking confirmations, rejections, or variations.
  • Ensure the accuracy of road space booking and abnormal loads data, resolving issues as needed. Stakeholders (. NTIS) rely on this data for publishing road works information to help customers plan their journeys (. via Traffic England, mobile apps).
  • Support network occupancy management related to the New Roads and Street Works Act and Traffic Management Act.

To be Successful

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced administrative environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the Traffic Management Act and New Roads & Street Works Act is desirable.
